A New Era for Rancho Christian Soccer
Rancho Christian School is stepping into a new era of soccer.
With a clear vision for growth, development, and long-term impact, the school is proud to introduce a new leadership structure that strengthens the future of the program at every level.
Gil Yeboah will serve as Director of Soccer while also taking on the role of Men’s Varsity Head Coach. Joining him is Rancho Christian alumnus Kali Kniskern (Class of 2019), who has been named Women’s Varsity Head Coach.
Together, they will lead the launch and development of the Rancho Christian Soccer Club — a unified, high-level competitive program designed to serve student-athletes from elementary through high school.
“This is an exciting step forward for Rancho Christian Soccer,” said Athletic Director Waheed Mitchell. “We believe this leadership team brings the vision, experience, and heart to build a program that will impact students at every level and set a new standard for excellence.”
For Rancho, this is more than a staffing update. It’s a strategic investment in the future.
Yeboah brings 14 years of coaching experience across club and high school levels, including Strikers FC, Laguna United FC, and Linfield Christian High School. His approach centers on development and mentorship, helping student-athletes grow not only in skill but in confidence and belief.
“Development, mentorship, and helping student-athletes believe that all things are truly possible,” Yeboah shared. “That’s what drives me as a coach.”
Kniskern’s return to Rancho carries special meaning for the community. As a 2019 graduate, she represents the kind of student-athlete the program aims to develop — and now, she returns to lead the next generation.
Her playing background reflects that same level of excellence. During her time at UCLA, she was part of a National Championship program, and she went on to continue her career at San Diego State. She has also competed at a high level within the U-20 U.S. National Team pool and at the professional level with Xolos Femenil.
Now back at Rancho, her passion is rooted in relationships and impact.
“I love watching my players grow and succeed, and knowing I played a part in their journey is such a blessing,” Kniskern said.
Beyond the game, both coaches share a commitment to Christ-centered development.
“I hope my players learn the value of keeping their identity in Jesus above all else,” Kniskern said. “There are many highs and lows in sports, but trusting in Him brings joy and peace in all circumstances.”
Yeboah echoed that vision, emphasizing character and influence.
“To be upstanding individuals who operate in honesty and integrity, and influence their community with the love of Christ.”
Looking ahead, the Rancho Christian Soccer Club will expand opportunities for younger students, including middle school development and early exposure for elementary students — building not just teams, but a consistent culture across all levels.
Families will have an opportunity to meet both coaches and experience that vision firsthand.
Rancho Christian will host a free Soccer Skills Clinic on Friday, May 17 from 3:30-5pm at Spogli Field. The clinic is open to Rancho students in Kindergarten through 8th grade and offers a glimpse into the future of soccer at Rancho.
This is more than a new season.
It’s the foundation of something bigger — a program built on excellence, development, and Christlike care.
