The Hands & Feet of Christ
Rancho Christian School and Rancho Church Host Joni & Friends Halftime Respite
This weekend, Rancho Christian students showed what it truly means to be the hands and feet of Christ.
Rancho Christian School and Rancho Church had the honor of hosting Joni & Friends Halftime Respite, a special outreach event designed to support families raising children with disabilities.
Halftime Respite provides parents and caregivers a few hours of rest while their children enjoy a safe and joy-filled environment with caring volunteers. Throughout the day, the Rancho campus was filled with laughter as children participated in games, crafts, and shared meals alongside the volunteers who served them.
One of the most meaningful aspects of the day was the incredible involvement of Rancho Christian students, who stepped up to serve as buddies and helpers. With patience, kindness, and joyful energy, these young men and women spent the day building friendships, playing games, and helping each child feel welcomed and valued.
For many families, opportunities for respite are rare. One parent shared that having a place where their child feels safe, cared for, and excited to return is an incredible blessing.
Events like Halftime Respite reflect the message of Luke 14, where Jesus calls His followers to welcome and honor those who are often overlooked. On Saturday, Rancho students and volunteers lived out that calling, choosing to see the person, not the disability, and celebrating each child as someone created in the image of God.
Rancho Christian School and Rancho Church are grateful to partner with Joni & Friends in serving these wonderful families and look forward to continuing this meaningful ministry together.
