January Teacher Spotlight

Serving, Leading, and Growing Together

At Rancho Christian School, our teachers play a vital role in shaping not only what students learn, but who they are becoming. This month, we are grateful to spotlight three educators from Preschool, Elementary, and Secondary who model faith, care, and purpose in powerful ways.

Ms. Kelsey (Preschool)
Ms. Kelsey treasures the opportunity to teach both Jesus and the ABC’s at such a formative age. She believes that building strong relationships with families who trust us with their children is the foundation for growth and confidence in early learning. Known by her students as funny, loving, and “my friend,” she creates a joyful, Christ-centered environment where our youngest Eagles feel safe, known, and loved.
Favorite Bible Verse: 1 Corinthians 16:14

Mrs. Abt (Elementary)
Mrs. Abt encourages her students to understand that effort matters just as much as ability. She teaches that success is found in perseverance, learning from mistakes, and continuing to grow. Her dream field trip would take students to Israel, where history, faith, and learning intersect, helping students see that classroom lessons connect to real people, real places, and their role in God’s story.
Favorite Bible Verse: Matthew 20:26–28

Mr. Alberda (Secondary)
Mr. Alberda reminds his students that life is about helping the people around them, accepting help when it’s offered, and having the courage to ask for help when it’s needed. He brings real-world relevance into his teaching, dreaming of a field trip to the Bay Area to show students how math applies in innovative industries and everyday life. His classroom reflects teamwork, encouragement, and a commitment to shining God’s light through service and collaboration.
Favorite Bible Verse: Matthew 5:14–16

Together, these teachers reflect the heart of Rancho Christian School. Their dedication, faith, and care for students across every age level are a living example of our Community of Christlike Care, where students are supported, challenged, and encouraged to grow in faith and character every day.
