RCS School Board
The primary purpose of the Rancho Christian School Board is to protect and promote the Mission and Vision of Rancho Christian Schools. The Board accomplishes this governance role primarily through its supervision and support of the lead administrators. Secondarily, the Board is responsible for ensuring that Rancho Christian School operates within a financially-sound model that allows for stability and growth over time.
The School Board conducts formal meetings with Administration and other key staff members on a monthly basis. Board Members are volunteers and receive no form of compensation. Members may serve up to a maximum of four consecutive 2-year terms. Members are selected from both the church and school communities via a formal interview and voting process.
Mr. Shadle holds a Bachelor of Science in Business degree and serves as the CFO and Risk Manager for RQ Construction in Carlsbad. Craig and his wife, Lise, have six children, including a member of the 2nd graduating class at RCHS. Craig has served on the school board since 2010.
Mr. Ketcham graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a BA in Quantitative Economics, and received his MBA from CSU San Bernardino. He has worked since 1996 as a Director at NBS, which provides consulting services to local governmental agencies. He is married to LeeAnne and has three daughters that attend Rancho Christian School.
Mrs. Vaniman graduated from UC San Diego with a BA in Psychology before earning her Masters in Physical Therapy from Chapman University. Karen is currently an Ergonomics Specialist for Kaiser Permanente. She has been an active member of Rancho Community Church for more than ten years. Karen is passionate about learning, grateful for RCS, and thankful for the opportunity to serve in this capacity. Karen and her husband Don have been married for 18 years and have a son (class of 2018) and a daughter (class of 2020) who have attended RCS since preschool.
Mrs. Wilson graduated from Western Michigan with a degree in Business and Communications. She is owner of Wilson Creek Winery and Vineyards where she has served as CFO and Distribution Manager. Deanna is married and has a daughter who attends Rancho (Class of 2023).
Mrs. Boyd graduated from Bowling Green State University with a BS.Ed, and later went through a master's program in Educational Administration. More recently, she completed an additional M.A. with specialization in National Board Certified Teacher Leadership. She has been an educator for 29 years. She and her husband are members of Rancho Community Church and have four children who have gone through schools in the Temecula Valley, the youngest two here at Rancho Christian School.
Mr. Augustine is a CPA and has been the Chief Financial Officer for Professional Hospital Supply for 16 years. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Healthcare Financial Management Association. Mr. Augustine received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from UC Irvine and obtained his formal accounting education from CSU Fullerton. He has lived in Temecula for 28 years and has been a leader in a variety of local non-profit and civic activities throughout that time, including serving on the Linfield Christian School Board for nine years before becoming a member of the Rancho Christian School board. He and his family have attended RCC for 28 years.
Mr. John Roush
Mr. Roush graduated from the University of Denver with his Masters in Clinical Social Work in 1989. He began his career directing programs and moved into the area of senior housing and development. John is now President of Blue Sky Communications and a managing partner of a commercial lending company. John is experienced in private Christian high school fundraising and development. He is married to Valerie and has 3 children, all of whom have been touched by the positive experience of Christian education.
Mr. Nakakihara holds a B.A. in Spanish and an M.B.A. degree, both from Cal State Fullerton. He has held a diverse set of positions ranging from teaching, sales management, programming, business owner, and operations, as well as having taught and lived abroad in Japan with Lisa, his wife of 33 years. Their son, Kevin, was born there in 1987. James is currently a special education teacher at Banning High School and has also been an associate faculty member at Mt. San Jacinto College since the year 2000. James recently completed a 4-year stint serving on the general synod council for the Reformed Church in America and has been attending Rancho Community Church for more than 20 years.
